Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 31, 2016

ConsensusDocs LLC (“ConsensusDocs” or “we”) has created this policy statement to help users of this website, ConsensusDocs.org, understand how we collect, use and protect information about them. The term “user” in this policy statement refers to visitors of this website. The term “collected information” refers specifically to information collected by this website. Your use of this website constitutes your agreement to our use of collected information in accordance with this policy statement.

Information Collected

For each visitor to this website, this Web server automatically recognizes the user’s domain name, IP address and certain information about the user’s equipment (e.g., type of browser, screen resolution, support for Java). Our server does not automatically record or recognize user-specific, personal information. Such information (e.g., e-mail address, telephone number, title, subject interests) is collected by our server only when volunteered by the user (e.g., when a user uses the site to purchase a product) and is recognized by the server only if the user logs in. We use cookies only to store user preferences and to record session information (e.g., user password, items added to a shopping cart). Although most web browsers automatically accept cookies, your computer will allow you to change your browser setting to prevent acceptance of cookies.  By doing so, you may not be able to use or access the website.

Credit card information is recorded only for completion of transaction for which it was provided and for subsequent purchases.  You may opt out of storing your credit card by going to “Manage Credit Card” under the “My Information” tab in your Dashboard.

This website is hosted in the United States by a third party service provider and the services related to the website are offered from within the United States. If you use or access the website from any country other than the United States, you agree that you may be transferring personally identifiable information into the United States. You also agree to the collection, processing, transfer, and storage of such personally identifiable information under US law, even if your local law affords you a greater level of privacy protection. Furthermore, by providing collected information to ConsensusDocs, you consent to the transfer of information outside of the European Union as well as to the storage and use of such information as described in this policy statement.

Children’s Privacy

We do not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13 and we respect the sensitive nature of children’s privacy online. We do not direct any of our content specifically at children less than 13 years of age. We will promptly delete any collected information we have collected about a user less than 13 years of age if we become aware that we have collected such information.

Use of Collected Information

ConsensusDocs LLC’s primary objective in obtaining collected information is to provide the best customer service possible. User-specific information that is provided by the user is normally incorporated into the ConsensusDocs LLC database. ConsensusDocs LLC uses information in that database, and shares some information in the database with ConsensusDocs Coalition Members and third-party service providers, for the purpose of executing requested ConsensusDocs products, services and resources, and for the purpose of notifying users of additional ConsensusDocs products, services, statements and resources. ConsensusDocs LLC generally does not sell or trade collected information to third parties specifically for commercial use, but does provide limited information to third parties. This includes information shared with individuals and organizations with which ConsensusDocs LLC has a business relationship.

Disclosure or Transfer to Third Parties

We may disclose collected information if required to do so by law or in the good-faith belief that disclosure is necessary to obey the law or comply with legal process served on us or to protect and defend our rights or property. We may also disclose collected information in connection with services we obtain related to your use of the website (such as data storage, hosting or other related services); in such a case, we will require such parties to enter into a confidentiality agreement with us to protect such collected information. If we transfer a portion or all our business or assets to another party (through merger, acquisition or another means), we will use reasonable efforts to require that the acquiring party abide by the terms of this policy statement.

Opportunity to Opt Out

Because collected information volunteered by the user is automatically stored in the ConsensusDocs LLC database along with information collected by means other than this site (including offline collection), it is not possible to specifically opt out from the use of collected information. However, users may submit a request to limit marketing or to avoid specific types of communication (e.g., mail, fax, e-mail) by contacting us by e-mail at Support@ConsensusDocs.org, by telephone at 866-935-DOCS (3627) or by mail at 2300 Wilson Blvd., Suite 300, Arlington, VA 22201.

Security

This site and the servers that store collected information have reasonable, industry-standard security measures in place to protect against the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under ConsensusDocs LLC’s control. Please note, however, that no security system is 100% secure. Authentic ConsensusDocs LLC Web pages requesting credit card information are secure Web pages, and sensitive data is encrypted for transmission. ConsensusDocs LLC does not knowingly share credit card numbers with third parties except to the extent necessary, and incidental to the purposes, for which the user supplied the information absent user consent.

Links to Other Web Sites

This site contains links to other web sites, some of which may look similar to this site and appear to be a part of this site. ConsensusDocs LLC is not responsible for the privacy practices, content or security of such sites, or for the reliability of their web sites and/or services.  If you choose to access a third party Web Site or Service through our site, you do so at your own risk.

Changes to Policy and Deviation from Policy

We reserve the right to revise this policy and to use collected information for uses not previously disclosed without prior notice and at any time. If policy changes are made, a revised policy will be posted on this page. It is your obligation to check the website for changes. Any changes are effective upon posting; your continued use constitutes your acceptance of any such changes.
