Project Contractor:  Hensel Phelps Construction Co.
Project Description: The Alaska Airlines project was an extensive renovation of Terminal 6 at LAX and relocation of Alaska Airlines’ operations from Terminal 3 to Terminal 6. The project started as a program management project awarded to Phelps Development, LLC by Alaska Airlines using a Consensus Docs Program Management agreement. Approximately nine months after the initial award, Hensel Phelps Construction Co. entered into a ConsensusDocs Design-Build agreement with Alaska Airlines. Scope of work included: new ticketing lobby for Alaska Airlines’ signature “Airport of the Future” ticketing, construction of a new premier passenger Boardroom (LEED Silver Certified), renovation of passenger holdrooms and support offices, new in-line baggage screening system, and extension of the Federal Inspection Service (FIS) sterile corridor.
